SUCCESSION PLANNING

Succession Planning

With the funding and support of Calgary Arts Development, AMAAS undertook a project to address best practices in succession planning and human resource management within the media arts sector in Alberta.

This project spanned over 18 months and consist of three phases: Exploration, Experience and Execution.

The end goal of the project was to build a succession plan for AMAAS Leadership as well as develop a support toolkit for AMAAS members and the media arts sector in general.

Phase 2: Experience is now complete. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Phase 1 saw the completion of the Exploration stage of the project. This included general research surrounding organizational succession for Alberta non-profits arts organizations, which was conducted through both a general survey and individual member conversations/interviews. In addition to research, AMAAS conducted the first board and staff project session on October 2, 2022.
