The last few months have been a blur of administrative details and getting the AMAAS office running smoothly. I’ve travelled to Lethbridge and Edmonton and l am heading to Red Deer for Prairie Tales 16. Thank you to everyone for welcoming me into this role and I look forward to more networking to promote, support, educate and advocate on behalf of AMAAS.

Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40
Congrats to Camille Beaudoin Executive Producer, Mosaic Entertainment Top 40 under 40. She provides a platform for local actors to showcase their talents to large audiences while creatively thinking outside the television box.

Art on the hill and news from the Lege.
“Arts and culture are infrastructure for the mind” writes Todd Hirsch on the economic imperative for investing in arts and culture. Todd is also a member of the Premiers Council who advice the Minister of Culture.

The Independent Media Arts Alliance was part of Art on the Hill when 100 artists met with Members of Parliament as part of the Canadian Arts Coalition’s Arts Day on the Hill.

We’re organizing for the 2015 AMAAS Conference scheduled for June 4,5,6. Please mark your calendars and watch for details to register. Survey says “The Conference is a terrific opportunity for professional development and making connections”. And it’s an important part of the AMAAS mandate.
