Out of This World Sponsorship

Sponsorship

Alberta Media Arts Alliance (AMAAS) views hosting our semi-annual conference as one of the most important roles of our umbrella organization.

We offer media artists and media arts organizations the platform to learn, network, collaborate and build a strong media arts community in our Province.

We share information to our delegates through films, installations, talented speakers, professional development opportunities, and use the time together to decompress from our overloaded digital lives.

This year the conference will be in St. Paul Alberta, home to the world’s only UFO Landing Pad, and the cultural hub for Cree and Metis Nations of Treaty 6 Territory and Ukrainian and Francophone communities.

This year’s conference theme is Out of This World, with a focus on eXtreme Reality (XR). We have selected three Artists-in-Residence focused on presenting virtual reality or augmented reality projects within the town of St. Paul. We are grateful to the Canada Council for the Arts for the support of this component of our overall conference.

We will also offer an introduction to the rapidly growing world of XR including topics in augmented reality, virtual reality, NFTs, projection mapping and 3D graphics. It is a whole new dimension to some and a world with so many options for media art productions.

Our municipal and provincial operating funds ensure that the conference is kept accessible for members and delegates at the ow cost of $125 registration that includes 9 meals, workshops, presentations, art installations and evening programming activities to welcome the public and town of St. Paul.

Small town accommodation costs are low but gas prices are high!
