Metro Cinema is a non-profit society and charitable organization committed to the promotion of Canadian and International independent film and video in Edmonton, Alberta. Metro Cinema was born as the National Film Theatre Edmonton in February 1977 and became Metro Cinema in March 1989. We have been located in many theatres around Edmonton over the past 25 years including the Roxy Theare, the Edmonton Art Gallery Theatre, the Canada Place NFB office, and, in the beginning and most recently, the Citadel's Zeidler Hall
