AMAAS Conference 2011 - Back to Our Roots

June 23 - 26, 2011


The Alberta Media Arts Community is invited to the 2011 Conference, "Back to Our Roots."  The conference takes place at the Holiday Inn - Hinton (393 Gregg Avenue, Hinton, AB).

Delegates should plan to arrive the evening of Thursday June 23rd.  There will be two full days of activities and we will check out on the morning of June 26th (3 nights).

Activites include: the Spirit of Helen Award, Prairie Tales 13 Premiere, Media Arts Collections Presentation, AMAAS History Walk, Keynote Speech: Hinton Mayor Glenn Taylor, AMAAS AGM, Networking and Hot Springs!

Registration Fee: $100 shared room, $200 private room (weekend value $700) Spaces limited, registrations filled on a first come basis.  AMAAS will provide up to 10 travel bursaries to interested delegates based on travel distance and financial need.  Please inquire.

Public presentations later this month:

Michele Wozny, will be releasing her comprehensive report on Media Arts preservation and collections this month.  Two public presentations are planned: June 24th at 1:30 PM in Hinton, AB at the Holiday Inn, 393 Gregg Ave; and June 28th at 7:30 PM in Calgary, AB at the QAS/EM theatre, 351 11 Ave. SW.


The report will be available for purchase or free download in July, 2011 - contact the AMAAS office for details.
